Help Projects: India After two years of construction the clinic was opened in 1995 under the leadership of the Austrian doctor Dr. Barbara Nath-Wiser. Since 1998 this project is registered in India as an autonomous Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) under the name „Nishtha Trust“. In the meantime Dr. Barbara Nath-Wiser’s work has won international recognition. The staff of the clinic cares for approximately 40 patients daily. These patients come mostly from within the impoverished population of the surrounding areas, whose livelihood as farmers and shepherds is being more and more curtailed. Aside from programs on health and nutrition, psychosocial programs, as well as education and support of women become more and more important. Therefore, the community center, adjacent to the clinic, which was completed in 2004, offers a series of programs for the support and strengthening of the women, who are in general disadvantaged in society. Also sex education for men is offered. Through this men learn to understand their women better and learn to overcome their own insecurities. Austrian project holder: AKTION REGEN
